Drive the car, now watch the video

We've teamed up with the rather excellent Classic Cars Driven website to create a full length video of some of our most popular cars.  The video is a collection of reviews by Matt Nichols, the brains behind the website and the video.  Already very popular on YouTube we've collected them together for the first in a series of DVDs covering popular classic cars.
The 70 minute DVD is the perfect accompaniment for anyone who has driven one of our cars or plans to.  The first series features 10 different classic cars, including Great Escape Classic Car Hire's Jaguar E Type convertible, Jensen Interceptor, MGB, Porsche 911T, Jaguar Mk2 and HMC Healey MkIV, alongside a Triumph TR4a, Mini Cooper, Alfa GTV and Daimler Dart.  There is in-car and external footage of each car plus a continuous commentary from Matt on the driving experience.
The new Classic Cars Driven DVD is available to buy from the Great Escape Classic Cars website for just £14.99.  It can be bought online or by phone on 01527 893733.
Great Escape works with Classic Cars Driven to provide vehicles from its fleet for Matt to review.  Article and video review are produced on each car and can be viewed on the website at www.classiccarsdriven.com.

Video: Morgan factory

SUPPOSE you were in the lucky position to have Morgan's mad Threewheeler on order.

That's the position a friend of Life On Cars is in, and on a trip to see how his Threewheeler was taking shape he recorded this video of life at the company's Malvern factory.

It gives a fascinating insight not only into how the Threewheeler - one of the best cars I've driven all year - takes shape, but also into how its more conventional four-wheeled siblings are crafted and at why Morgan is still quite unlike any other car maker in the country. Having also toured the old TVR factory in Blackpool before it closed and the Lotus plant in Norfolk earlier this year, it almost tempts me to take a trip down to Worcestershire and see it for myself.

If you're a fan of the Threewheeler but can't afford the £30,000 pricetag then you'll probably like this one...

Video: Confessions of a motoring journalist

AS mentioned earlier in the week, I made a video to show the nice people at the Institute of Advanced Motorists but things didn't exactly go to plan.

This, had the computer not said no, is what they would've seen - a sort of narrated slideshow, giving a glimpse into the world of roadtesting cars and the motors I both hate and rate. Instead, I thought I'd share it with the wider world, so the finished film doesn't go unseen.

Enjoy...

A quick trip in some Lancia rally cars

Pirelli decided to present his new line of tires for performance classic cars in the best possible way, ever.
Select some journalists and put them in the navigator seats of some of the greatest Lancia ever made with some of the best drivers of the day at the wheel.
Watch Chris harris from DRIVE's youtube channel having what is his words is "the best day of my working life".

Priceless.
