7 days & 500 miles round England in a Morris Minor Traveller

Here at Great Escape Classic Car Hire we work hard to make our classic hire cars reliable so when our 1957 Morris Minor Traveller was booked for a 7 day tour of England, we were up for the challenge.
The Morris was booked by Nicola Beauman of specialist publishing house Persephone Books for a book tour to celebrate the publication of the company's 100th book.  Persephone reprints books from the interwar years so the Morris Minor was perfect for the tour of book shops and reading groups throughout Wales, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Somerset.

The Morris Minor Traveller covered 500 miles on the tour, performing faultlessly during the 7 day trip and receiving rave reviews wherever it went.  The car will shortly feature in an article in The Observer colour supplement.  The Great Escape car is a 1957 Morris Minor Traveller 1000 finished in rare dark green with olive leather interior.  It is 'Delux' specification so features a heater, which was normally an optional extra.  The car has been in the same Birmingham family since new.
