Darts over here, Darts over there. Darts a bit of everywhere!

Sometimes you just gotta know the right people. I have a friend named Jim and he always had mentioned that he had a small storage area where he stashed some of his projects not far from his house. And after a car show a few summers ago, we decided to see some of what he had, so he gave me the 10 cent tour and it was definitely eye opening.

We first stopped off at his house to drop off his truck. There he showed us some of the Big Block Darts he was working on, and some of his neglected projects that were around. Since these pictures were taken, the Turquoise Dart is in the process of final assembly. Also around the side he had his project Polara Convertible (with Superlite!), Aspen R/T and Australian Valiant Ute!

Jim then lead me over to his secret storage building full of a bunch of spare parts he has, including some projects he had hanging around, including a Super Stock Demon (now sold), more Dart parts tehn you can shake a tree at. Along with a single J-Code 1969 Charger sitting quietly in the corner.

They don't call Jim the Dart Guru for no reason! Here is another big block Dart!

Never ends the way you expect: Part Four... The 1969 Charger Daytona Nose in the Barn

Finally making my way back to my friends place (http://carsinbarns.blogspot.com/2011/08/birds-and-bees-in-barns-part-two.html) for the whole reason I came out there, the 69 Dodge Charger Daytona nose. I knew of a gentleman that needed it for a real nose after his original one got mangled in a crash. And my friend just happened to mention he had one. So after three different detours, we were finally in the barn with the nose.

It was in rougher shape then I had envisioned. But it was still an original 69 Dodge Charger Daytona nose. These don't grow on trees. He showed me the pieces his son had made to finish/fix the nose.

I talked with him for a bit longer. Snapped some pictures of the other cars in the barn, I hadn't gotten a very good look the last time. He has a lot of really cool stuff in there. One day he is going to fix them up with his sons.

It was getting late, my friend and I talked a bit longer, but the Sun was setting and I was well past dinner with my family. So we parted company and I headed towards home. It was a absolutely beautiful evening for a drive.
