1966 Dodge Dart 270 Convertible Restoration Part 10

Early May 2011

More chrome parts came back from the shop



Car was safely towed to the upholstery shop and work begun

Windscreen ready to be installed

New rubber seal installed

Windscreen is in...

Chrome trimmings around the windscreen 

Late May 2011

Head light surround and convertible top installed

Side trimming



Rear bumper arrived from the chrome shop...

Removed the wheels for refurbishing

Old wheel

The wheels were blasted and sprayed with Epoxy then...

Rear bumper installed!

Car safe arrived at the wiring shop


New wiring was painstakingly laid out and work begun


This is why I can never be a wireman... :P


"new" light switch was ordered from Ebay, the old onewas missing

Wiring job finally DONE!

Battery tray installed

Engine was taken apart and overhauled...


Block

Pistons and conrods - replacing rings and bearings


New main bearings

Crankshaft

Bottom-end assembled using new timing chain

Late January 2011

Rear end, K-member, brakes and suspension components removed for sandblasting

Walla!! After a coat of paint...

Leaf spring after sandblasting and sprayed with black paint
